Hiking in Bad Kleinkirchheim
Nature in its purest form.
A varied hiking area awaits you during your autumn vacation in Bad Kleinkirchheim in Carinthia! Look forward to a picturesque mountain landscape, crystal-clear mountain lakes and rushing waterfalls. The Carinthian lakes, above all Lake Millstatt, can be reached in 10 minutes by car and are ideal for swimming, rowing or boating.
A hiking tip is the Millstätter Alpe with a sensational view and afterwards you can swim in the lake with drinking water quality. The geology of the Nockberge mountains, or rather the formation, dates back to the Tertiary period. The gentle peaks are striking, although they can be steep (Eisenhut, Rinsennock, Bretthöhe). An approx. 3 km long band of dolomite runs through the primary rock of the Nockberge - this inclusion is best seen at the Zunderwänden in St. Oswald. Here you will find views that are very similar to the Dolomites, only with the loveliness of the Carinthian Nockberge.

Discover Bad Kleinkirchheim
This discovery tour starts at the tourist office and continues in the direction of the Römerbad thermal baths to the golf course. The highlight of the trail is the Speik sculpture at Matl Sepp. A visit in the evening is particularly romantic as the flower colors change. Return via the 3 churches of Bad Kleinkirchheim, St. Ulrich, the Protestant church and our St. Kathrein, where you will find the eye spring with its thermal water. Then continue to St. Oswald to the Wegerstadl (museum stables) and from there on foot or with the Nockmobil back to the starting point in Bad Kleinkirchheim.
TIP: The Speik
The Speik is a dainty plant with a surprising effect. Small and inconspicuous, Valeriana celtica works wonders when it comes to relaxation.
The delicately filigree blossom is enchanting and the aromatic scents have been inspiring people for thousands of years. A monument to this plant was created in Bad Kleinkirchheim in the form of a sculpture by artist Hans Pertl.

The Nock Mountains

The Nockberge are a real hiking paradise with around 600 km of well-marked hiking trails. The mountains in the sunny south of Austria cover around 184 km². The highest mountain is the Rosennock at 2,440 m.
